3rd Birthday

Ahhh, yes more Echo Park.  My son insisted on wearing this hideous yellow Ben 10 t-shirt on his birthday.    So to prevent a tantrum that mummy was just not in the mood for I relented.  I will admit that all I was thinking at the time is 'Erggghhh what will the photos look like and what papers are going to match that t-shirt!".  Echo Park . . . I want to thank you.  Also, made a new purchase, an I-Top - my new favourite toy so co-ordinated brads will be featuring on future layouts!  At least the MS Cherish punch is getting a rest!
The rest is history.  TFL

Thomas the king of mess!

This one is another using Echo Park Walk in the Park - I find these bright colours so attractive but a real challenge to use.  I keep coming back to them in the hope that one day I will master them!

I created the little square envelope using my new acquired Martha Stewart Score Board - I got the idea from a layout I saw on 2 Peas using envelopes to block photos on.

Things I Love

This is a submission for a call at Scrapbooking Memories.  Favourite Things.

So I decided to branch out and do some more photography of things other than the human/dog kind!  Saw this layout in the Page Maps 2 book in a digital version.  Using Basic Grey Pyrus papers, Glimmer mist (background, handmade flower & chipboard frame/alphas) Coffee Shop.

After the frustration of my previous project I really enjoyed putting this layout together and in fact took the photos after the layout was finished.  Another first!  TFL

Lucky Moment

This one has been sitting on my desk for a week waiting for me to work out how to finish it.  It was one of the projects where I thought I knew where I was going with it then it just didn't come together they way I had hoped.  Anyway today I finally sat down in front of it determined to finish it and move on to the next project!  Still a tad ho hum about it but I guess you have projects like that.  TFL

The Smile

Here is another using Bella Boulevard One Fall Day - I love this range and this is the second layout I have done using these papers.  The little embellies are from an old pack of puffy Thickers Accents which I had in my stash.  The chipboard tree is Scrap FX.

Boy In A Bucket

Just finished a layout I started on the weekend.  I found the inspiration from a digital layout I saw on Two Peas.  Yes, another nude photo of my son - as cute as we find it I hope it is a habit that he grows out of before he has a drunken night out !  TFL

No More Photos

This is my almost 5 year old son at his first school disco in December last year.  Not the most cooperative lad - no photos and no dancing!  Too cute - when he gets older the girls will love that moody shyness!  Guffaw!

Get Picky Challenge

My very first entry for a Challenge.  Really loved the inspiration for this months challenge at Get Picky so thought I would have a go.  I took the sparkly white on grey colour scheme as my inspiration plus the Christmas scheme.  This will also be the first time I have done a monochrome style layout too, TFL

Products used:  My Mind's Eye Portobello Road dimensional stickers, American Crafts Glitter Cardstock, Martha Stewart Cherish Punch (again - just love it!), the trim is Prima, Silver Glimmer Mist, Thickers.

1st Birthday

Okay, so this photo is from 4 years ago - I will admit I am still 'new' to scrapping compared to my peers.  I still have loads of earlier photos to scrap which is great because there are so many gorgeous papers being released for babies or children in their earlier years.  This one uses My Mind's Eye - Fine & Dandy True Blue.  I adored this line when it was first released so am so glad I found a photo to suit the papers and the time to scrap it!  I have had a great day - as you can see I found a day to do a few layouts - I am in scrap zen heaven!  TFL!

January Sketch Competition - HBS

This month Sam Hauzer is the Guest Designer at HBS and also has created the Sketch.
And here is my take on the sketch.  I decided to scrap the table all laid out and the tree which is something different for me as I have always scrapped people - so today I have a few firsts!
Products used on this one - My Mind's Eye - I Believe papers, Dusty Attic Chipboard, AC Thickers & Martha Stewart Cherish Punch.

Family Photo

I am sure I am not the only one . . . but I can count on 1 hand the number of family photos I have.  I have plenty of the kids, hubby with the kids but I am rarely in them.  2 reasons (like everyone else) I don't like having my photo taken and I am usually the photo taker!

So was pleased with this photo taken on Christmas day as we all look happy given the tough year that 2010 was.  It was also really nice to scrap a flowery layout for a change instead of an all boy layout which is usually the case!

Not that I ever make resolutions but maybe this year should be a year of scrapping more photos of myself.  For those who don't know me other than via HBS I had a cancer scare at the beginning of last year and had to have neurosurgery last January.  2010 was a long year of recovery physically and also trying to keep my new business running and growing.  I think 2011 should be a year of being thankful for my health and recording it so I never forget just how lucky I was!  Let's see how I go!

Anyway - The below layout used Jillibean Soup - Pasta Fagioli papers, American Crafts Thickers, Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punches and of course loads and loads of flowers I have been accumulating over the years!  TFL
